Steal someone thunder means to steal someone day or event.
So for example, if it is my birthday and I having a birthday party and one of
the my guest come and say I got job and I will pay everyone so every person in
my party start to congratulate to that person so that person is stealing my
thunder, he is bad guy. It’s my day it is not that guy day. That’s the
expression.
