pushing it. In this expression, word “it” refer to luck. So don’t push your luck. So for example, you are seeing a tree and there are four apples so you climb the tree and get two apples easily but other one is little bit farther so you go out and tree is not strong and shaking and you got apple and there is one more apple so you go out little farther. You’re pushing your luck and you fall from the tree and you break your arm because you were greedy. You are pushing your luck. Don’t push it. This is the meaning of expression

Thank you. Can you make garlic bread?

Uh okay

Don’t keep the asking more. You are pushing it; if you ask more you will loose everything that is another meaning of this expression.
