Daily Easy English Expression 0053 - Keep it down! - 3 Minute Lesson
Hy
everyone, this is Muhammad Nabeel in Pakistan. The best English expression
channel on YouTube is my honor to have you. Keep it down this sound connects
and these are two similar sounds so we just keep the d. ‘keep it down’ no body
says that, you have to say ‘keepid’ down.
So somebody is talking to loud or if somebody
has music to loud, if someone is trying to study to loud then say ‘keep it
down’. Keep the noise down, keep the volume down, be quite, and don’t say shut
up. This is fighting word. Somebody says shut up, you may fight. Don’t say this
to your boss “oh boss come one, keep it down.” It’s not funny. Use it your
friend or with your family, people with the same level, other students, that’s
the idea. Listen to the conversation;
Come on keep it down
What this song is so cool –
Its stupid and the singer is horrible
That singer is my hero and the song is so deep
What a fantastic song but its volume is to loud please keep
it down and I will be back tomorrow. Bye

Daily Easy English Expression 0046 --to turn in (2 meanings)-- --3 Minute Lesson
Hay
everyone; this is Muhammad Nabeel in Pakistan. Today I will focus on the phrasal verb ‘to
turn in’. Now ‘to turn in’ can have several meanings I am going to focus on
two. No.1: ‘to turn in something’.
It means
to give something to somebody who asked for it and the easy example is
homework. Turn in your homework to the professor, turn in a proposal to a boss,
so when you give something to a teacher or to a boss. Basically those are two
main situations. You turn something in, they asked for something, you did it
and then you turn it in. okay, we can use it other situation too. For example,
the police have asked the public to turn in their weapons, to turn in drugs, to
give something to someone. That’s the idea.
Another
definition ‘to turn in’ means to go to the bed. What time did you turn in last night?
What time did you go to the bed last night? So those are two very common definitions
of phrasal verb to turn in. listen to the dialogue:
Did
you turn in the assignment?
Yes!
Now I’m free
So,
what are you gonna do?
I’m
gonna turn in early tonight. I’m tired~~
That would be nice to
turn in early. What time do you usually turn in. leave a message down below And
I will see you next week. ByeThursday, March 19, 2015
Daily Easy English Expression 0055 -- 3 Minute Lesson- picky
Hay everyone;
this is Muhammad Nabeel in Pakistan. Today we have a very useful expression. If
someone is picky that means they look at every little thing and they say “no,
yes, little more, too much, I don’t like it, ok,” this is being picky. So when
I shoot my videos, the center has to be perfect; my hair has to be perfect,
that is being a little picky. Some times when we eat food, some people are
really picky. So for example, I like bread but with a just little bit an onion,
two or three small dots of mustered, and one line of ketchup, of course the
bunch should be toasted. And I want ketchup on the side.
So if
you are too meticulous, if you are too perfect and everything has to be just
right, you are picky. Are you picky? Do you think I am picky? I wonder what
your response will be. What are you picky about? For me, I think, I am not too
picky. Well, maybe I am picky when it comes to food, and it has to be just
right. And when I do my lessons and I edit my videos, I try to get everything
just right. I am a little picky. What do you think? Who is the pickiest English
teacher? Who is the pickiest person around you?
I
want you to give me an example when you are picky or maybe your brother, your
sister, somebody around you. Tell me when they are picky and I will see you
guys tomorrow. Bye
